What Jacket Would An Arctic Explorer Wear
I'm always thrilled when I find products that are made to exceptional quality and at the same time express strong values. When you wear a Canada Goose Jacket, you are wearing a piece of history, and also a piece of the future. For over 60 years they've been dedicated to constructing warm, durable, lightweight, functional and stylish cold weather jackets, and with environment and sustainability as part of their core values, will surely continue to do so for many years to come.
Some of the first Canada Goose Jackets were
worn by Canadian Arctic Rangers. They weighed 7.5lb, were tested at -70 degrees
Celsius and made up of 247 pieces. Since then these jackets have been a staple choice
of Arctic explorers, film crews and day to day folks like you and me, who love the
great outdoors, in any condition, but just like to feel warm and comfortable
while we're out there.
I am lucky that my work lets me travel, and
it's not been uncommon for me to have found myself from one month to the next
moving from Sub Saharan Africa, to the snowy peaks of Argentina. Something that
there's always space for in my bag is a Canada Goose Outlet. On such a journey
I'm particularly susceptible to the cold, but when I'm wearing my red parka I never
even feel a hint of it. The main component of the jacket is, as the name
suggests, goose down, which is full of air pockets that trap the air inside and
result in the super insulation. The parkas and some of the other jackets have a
beautiful fur lining which is made from Coyote.
Something that makes me even more
comfortable is that these animals are treated humanely. The goose down used
always comes from geese that are already being used for human consumption, and
the Coyotes, which are in abundance in Canada, are always sourced ethically.
The final touch is the outer coating, made of a special textile called
Artic-Tech, that makes the jacket waterproof and windproof while remaining
extremely light.
I'm also a big fan of the fact that the
Canada Goose Jackets are all made in Canada. Canada Goose Sale days with companies
outsourcing their products to low wage countries, it's rare to find that
dedication to home values.
It's important to the quality though, as
it's the climatic conditions of the region, and dedication to quality craftsmanship
that inspired the jackets in the first place. When we all concentrate on the
things we're best at it's like we're working together towards improving our
interaction with each other and the world.
I chose the red parka because I'm a wannabe
film director and Canada Goose Jackets are actually the first choice for film
crews around the world. In my mind the image is always of the director with his
loudspeaker cone and wearing a red parka. They do come in a wide range of colours
and styles though. Some are extremely lightweight and designed for day to day
use, when it's cold, but you're not going to spend a month hiking in the Arctic
circle. I haven't reached the courage to undertake such an adventure yet, but
when I do I know what I'll be wearing.
